The Story behind PLAY BETTER:

We all know competition golf is a brutal grind. It is tough and demanding both mentally and physically. Like most things in life, we can all can overcomplicate things when we are on the course. But when we simplify our process and focus on the basics, we can play better. And this simple truth became the story behind “PLAY BETTER!”

The shorter version of the story goes something like this: After a rough opening round in a tournament last year Coach asked his wife, “What do we have to do to win this tournament?” 

And his wife quickly replied, “It’s actually very simple, “Just Play Better!”

Coach begrudgingly relayed this story to the team later that evening and they responded “Well, She’s not wrong!”  This lead to Coach speaking on the need to keep things simple and focus on the process and not the outcome.  The boys embraced the concept and went out and took control of the tournament. Thereafter, PLAY BETTER was adopted as the Team’s rallying cry of sorts.

The “Play Better” phrase was put on the Alignment stick covers this year as a reminder to keep things simple and process focused.  If it works for them, it can work for you!
